Class of 1976 Scholarship Fund
Goal: $125,000
Current Commitments: $91,072
We need your help and participation
Our goal is to establish a permanent endowment of $125,000 — a fund that should generate approximately $5,000 each year in perpetuity to help support a deserving Country Day student. We understand that every alum’s circumstances are different, and we are grateful for contributions at any level. We’re aiming for 100% class participation. Each contributor will be recognized on a plaque at the school and on the school's website — gift amounts are private.
Progress as of June 9, 2026 we have received $91,072.45 toward our goal.
Participants so far include: Barach, Garvey, Harrison, Kerman, Wilhelm

The Class of 1976 Scholarship will be awarded to students demonstrating financial need who embody the qualities that our class valued: a commitment to excellence tempered by a sense of humor, intellectual curiosity that ranges freely across disciplines, and a genuine delight in the company of classmates whose passions differ from their own.
Ours was a small class—42 students—and within that group there were overlapping circles of classmates who excelled in academics, athletics, and the arts. Yet despite those different areas of emphasis, everyone got along: the top students and those whose gifts lay elsewhere, the athletes and the poets, the theater kids and the science geeks. What’s more, this spirit of mutual support allowed us to learn from one another and broaden our perspectives beyond our initial personal interests.
That kind of community of individuals open to discovery, in which students thrive in their own pursuits, appreciate those of their peers, and nourish one another in the process, is what this scholarship aims to encourage. It is intended for students who, like the members of our class, aspire not only to excel personally but also to help foster an environment in which they and their classmates can grow and be changed.
